Facts in brief:
Philip Parker, a long-term resident of Japan, established P.J. Parker & Co.in 2001 as an overseas corporation with registered office in Japan. In 2005, we established a Japan-registered corporation, and moved our entire business to the Japanese corporation.
From 2001 to 2005, we helped high-tech startups from overseas enter the Japan market.
In 2006, we began brokering the sale and licensing of patents. Since then have steadily expanded our client base. Our clients include more than two thirds of the top Japanese high-tech companies, many of the top high-tech companies in Korea, China, and Taiwan, and major pharmaceutical and materials science companies.
Our firm is now the largest patent brokering business in North-East Asia. We have sold more than 3,000 patents.
Philip Parker has over 25 years of experience in high tech industries and intellectual property rights. He has established the Japan offices of numerous high-tech companies, including vendors of network equipment, software, and semiconductors, and an undersea fiber optic telecommunications cable network. He is a co-founder of systemsGo Corporation, a pan-Asia systems integration firm.
In his earlier career, Philip Parker worked as a management consultant at Arthur D. Little and at A.T. Kearney, focusing on the telecommunications industry.
He holds a Ph.D. in engineering from the Australian National University, a BE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Adelaide, and an MBA from the Jack Welch Management Institute. He studied at both Osaka University of Foreign Studies and at Kyoto University on a Japanese government scholarship. He speaks both Japanese and Chinese.
Takashi Tazaki is an expert at business development with major Japanese corporations.
Mr. Tazaki worked for over 30 years at Unisys Japan in major account sales and business development to the financial sector and government sector, holding various management positions. He helped establish the networking business of Unisys Japan, which grew into the subsidiary Uniadex. After leaving Unisys Japan, he worked for Mitsui & Co., one of Japan’s major trading houses.
In 2006, he joined P.J. Parker & Co. and has been instrumental in building our clientele among major Japanese corporations.

Our office is in Lattice Aoyama Square, a black and glass-fronted building just behind the Aoyama Twin Building. (There is a Tully’s coffee shop on the ground floor of the building.) We are on the 2nd floor within the SENQ Aoyama office suite.
